Advanced Pickleball Skills and Strength Training
You don't need a heavy barbell; some basic leg presses or lunges can effectively build lower-body strength. The goal of strength training isn't to turn you into a bodybuilder, but to build muscle strength so you have more power and stability when driving the ball or sprinting to the non-volley zone.
Aerobic Exercise
A treadmill, elliptical trainer, or bicycle are all great aerobic exercise options. You can even try aerobic dance classes to improve your cardiovascular endurance and maintain muscle stamina during long matches.
Stretching
*Can significantly improve your balance and coordination. These exercises will help you find your sweet spot more accurately when hitting the ball and provide better control when executing dinks and drops.
Other Sports
*Try other sports, such as tennis, basketball, or swimming. This will not only give you a more comprehensive physical workout, but also provide new challenges and excitement mentally.
